An update Sept. 1, 2009

Good Morning
It's been awhile since you heard from me.
July 24th I finished 23 radiation treatments on my spine and pelvis. The cancer metastasized to my spine, trying to eat at my spinal cord but has been unsuccessful so far... Thank God.... Feb 5th I found out it metastasized to my spine. It hit me hard so we aggressively did the radiation treatments. I believe they helped since the pressure is off my spine.
I started a chemo therapy targeted medicine drug called NExavar. It's for kidney and liver cancer but it's an experiment with my Medullary thyroid cancer. I took a full dose for 17 days. My calcitonin level, cancer marker went down fro 50,000 to 10,000, which is remarkable. Unfortunately the side effects were harsh, callousses and blood blisters on feet and hands, mouth sores, rashes and my face looks like it's sunburned. Need to use aloe vera to help with the skin rashes. I'm off Nexavar for two weeks now to heal my body. I'll start slowly again on SEpt. 7th,Labor day and work my way up to a full dosage.
All awhile, I took the BRM-4, Peak Immune 4, the natural supplement.I believe it helped with the radiation and the Nexavar treatments.
Just an update!Stay strong...
Happy Labor Day!

I just joined this community. I hope you are still feeling positive.

I don't know my way around here yet. Yours was the first thing to come up in the Web pages section.

I am newly diagnosed and the size of tumor has been the topic of much discussion here. Except for the needle biopsy, I don't think they'd know yet what's going on. Lobular cancer is very hard to see with any of the current diagnostic methods.
Good luck to you.
