A part-time volunteer from The Philippine National Red Cross. Aspiring to be a Ganotherapy consultant. A Registered Nurse by Profession.

Last June 2006, I've met a female patient whose name is CJ. I was assigned to take care of her as a student nurse in Philippine Orthopedic Center. She was diagnosed with stage 2 osteosarcoma located in her right thigh. Although we've met only once in person, we still became friends. Of all the patients I've taken care of, she's the only one who became my friend. We used SMS as our means of communication.

Months later. Her condition worsens and her chemotherapy was delayed although she didn't mentioned the cause of delay in chemotherapy. Before she undergone chemotherapy. She was asking for my knowledge on how it works. She was already prepared for what consequences she may encounter.

She was a courageous girl. She is always ready to face any treatment and endure it just to survive from cancer.

December 2006, I decided to visit her again not as her student nurse but a friend. Suddenly she refused to be visited due to her shameness on her looks due to effects in chemotherapy. Maybe she didn't expect how become more terrible the effect to her the treatments and her condition. Although we still communicate with each other, as her past-time through sending SMS despite of her condition.

By January 2007, she became more depressed. Her boyfriend that she met at the hospital died, with the same condition as hers. She was always asking for comfort from me. Until, her condition became worse than ever before, arrived to stage 4.

Until few months later, I haven't received anymore messages from her. Then one day while I was completing my thesis papers. Her friend notified me that she died month ago, due to complications. Her tumor has spread to other internal organs.

I wanted her to become my friend from the start since we've first met that in the future she will be a cancer survivor, so that she will serve as an example to other people due to her courage and endurance. How frustrating it is...

That's why I join in this community, to remind me of her.

About ganotherapy, you can send me a personal message about it. It doesn't intend to substitute medical advice but can be used as an alternative or adjunct to usual medication.

Surfing the net, Sightseeing.
